Women’s writing circle – Monthly in Westbury on Trym

The women’s writing circle is currently on hold until we can meet together in person. Although I am grateful to be able to work online temporarily during this time of lockdown and social isolation, I strongly believe in the power of being present in the room together when we write and share.

It will be a safe and friendly space where four to eight of us can come together as women to see, hear, and support each other as we use expressive and creative writing to explore all aspects of who we are now as women; including our thoughts, feelings and creativity, our relationships with others, with ourselves and with our own bodies.

It will be based around some discussion of what we would like to explore, some guided writing exercises and the opportunity to share what we discover in a small and confidential group of other women. It’s likely that this period of being socially isolated from our usual circles of women friends will impact on the sorts of things we write about.

It’ll be fortnightly on a Friday from 1– 2:30 PM and the cost will be £10 per session at the circle or £40 if you pay for five circles in advance by bank transfer. The venue is will be Northover Road, Westbury on Trym, Bristol BS9 3LQ. Please contact me on or 07875 403 188 to express an interest and then I will get in touch when I think we can go ahead again.

Previous events and workshops:

Writing for Wellbeing  at The Flamingo Centre, Westbury on Trym September/ October 2019

I was at the Flamingo Centre in September and October 2019 with three writing for wellbeing workshops.  The cost was £15 per workshop or £35 for all three and ran fortnightly on a Saturday morning from 10 – 12:30 AM.

We used words and images to stimulate our own creative responses to the changes going on in us and in the world around us.

Please do check back here again or on my facebook page to see what’s coming up as I will be running more in 2020.

These workshops are for everyone, no previous writing experience is needed. Please contact Rachel on for further details if you’re interested in future events.
